I have always loved to research about the latest technology and education. I was one of the first to put a computer and digital projector in a classroom, when they were still the fancy toys of computer departments, and certainly not something someone would use with a class of primary school children!

Oddly, the projector is now a common sight in modern primary school classrooms. I of course have moved onto wanting to have every primary school child owning an Amazon Kindle reader. Oddly the response I get is 'A Kindle with primary children? Are you crazy? I don't know what they would say if they saw I use it with my 18 month old baby.

I have researched Online Schools for several years, and I wrote the now highly respected website http://www.best-online-schools.org and this new site uses a lot of the ideas I originally developed with the site. In this current site, you will see a lot of my ideas have been revised and improved such as why you need to earn your college degree online , as technology and choices continue to grow.

I have done a lot of thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of learning online and the more I read about studying online, the more I am sure it is a good way to go. By offering online high school diplomas, a school can now let students who have a burning desire to complete an unexpected course such as Chinese now have the chance of gaining the qualifications, and hence the career choices they have long dreamed of.

This of course extends as the student gets older and passes through online college degrees and higher online degrees, they can keep on building on their online successes and make a real difference to their career chances and keep working, while not needing to take a career break (and the consequent disruption to all their family's routines, along with them), and so they can develop a better home - school - work study balance.
